Services We Offer

With You Every Step of the Way

ABA Therapy

Teaching kids requires their motivation to learn and we specialize in having fun! We double or triple the learning opportunities that each child receives compared to what they might get if they were at home, with a babysitter or at preschool.  This allows kids the opportunity to overcome their deficits and potentially catch-up to their typical peers before they transition to kindergarten.  We play with toys, play group games, practice school routines, do arts and crafts, play on the playground and eat meals and snacks together, all while repetitively practicing and helping each child meet their individual goals. They have so much fun and don't even realize how hard they are working to learn new skills!

Parent/Caregiver Training

Your child with autism probably isn't your first kid and you don't need anyone to teach you how to raise your child.  Good thing that's not what this is about!  We're here to partner with you to help your child succeed at home and in the community.  We can teach you the methods we use to target specific problems that your family might be faced with when parenting a child with autism.  Does your child run away? Still use diapers/pull-ups?  Have meltdowns at home, church or the grocery store? These are just some examples of the many ways our compassionate BCBAs can help your family.

Trusted Care

Lauren Cavalli, MA, BCBA
Owner/Director

There's always been a special place in my heart for children with special needs.  When I was in college I worked as a Supportive Living Assistant with a non-verbal young girl who needed assistance in every aspect of her life.  I had little training but lots of hope that I could make a difference in her life and the lives of other children like her.  I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and went straight to graduate school at world-renowned Western Michigan University to study Applied Behavior Analysis.  I completed my field work at WoodsEdge Learning Center in Portage, MI and passed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst examination in 2012.  I've worked in a variety of outpatient clinics throughout Michigan and Indiana, specializing in Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention.  I am passionate about potty training, communication, school readiness, social skills and improving life at home and in the community through parent/caregiver training.  It is my vision that Ripple Effects Autism Learning Center will be a place of hope, encouragement, joy and success for the families we serve as well as the staff we employ.

Private Insurance Coverage

Ripple Effects Autism Learning Center is currently working toward accepting private insurance from many of the popular companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield/Blue Care Network and Priority Health.  Your health plan must include the Autism Benefit in order to have coverage. Also, your insurance company may require your child's ASD diagnosis to come from an Approved Autism Evaluation Center.  Consult your insurance company for more information on diagnostic requirements, in-network providers, and co-pays.

Navigating the Diagnosis

The Autism Alliance of Michigan is a huge resource for families at each step of the way.  They can help you check your insurance coverage, help you find other options if you don't have coverage, help you get an appointment for a diagnostic evaluation and even help you find therapy providers.  A real person actually answers the phone! Give them a call at 877-463-AAOM or follow the link to their website.
